# Mailmanny > Mailmanny is a Mailchimp-style email marketing platform for small businesses and the developers who build their apps: campaigns, audiences and automations in the web app, plus a REST API (JSON over HTTPS), a Node.js SDK and a CLI. From code you send transactional email written in React Email, add people to audiences (double opt-in by default) and track events that start automations. The SDK is Resend-compatible: `emails.send` takes the same fields and returns the same `{ data, error }` result. Set up Mailmanny in an app with an AI agent: 1. A person on the team creates an API key in Settings → API keys (https://www.mailmanny.com/settings/api-keys) and stores it as `MAILMANNY_API_KEY` in the server's environment. Keys start with `mm_live_` and are server-side secrets: the API refuses browser requests. 2. They verify the sending domain first, in Settings → Domains (https://www.mailmanny.com/settings/domains). Mailmanny only sends from verified domains: any other `from` fails with 422 `invalid_from_address`. 3. Install the SDK (Node.js 18.17+, ESM or CommonJS, no runtime dependencies): `npm install mailmanny`. Add `@react-email/render` to send React Email components. 4. The SDK reads `MAILMANNY_API_KEY` (and the optional `MAILMANNY_BASE_URL`) from the environment. Without the SDK, call https://www.mailmanny.com/api/v1 with `Authorization: Bearer $MAILMANNY_API_KEY`. 5. Every SDK method resolves to `{ data, error }` and never throws for API errors. Check `error.name` (stable, e.g. `validation_error`, `rate_limit_exceeded`). Send an email: ```ts import { Mailmanny } from "mailmanny"; const mm = new Mailmanny(process.env.MAILMANNY_API_KEY); const { data, error } = await mm.emails.send({ from: "You ", to: "sam@example.com", subject: "Hello from Mailmanny", html: "

It works.

" }); ``` The docs links below point at each page's Markdown.
